We had our experts answer a few different questions that homeowners often ask about garage door systems. Take a look at our informative FAQs to learn more.
If I replace my garage door, do I need to also replace the tracks?
In general, it's usually recommended that your old tracks be replaced when installing a new garage door. This is because these parts can be worn or damaged, and they may not be a perfect fit for your new door. If you insist on keeping your old tracks, you may experience more frequent problems later on.
Can my garage door sensors be repaired if they don't work?
In most cases, when your garage door safety sensors aren't working, they've either become misaligned or something is blocking them. Look carefully around the sensors and check to make sure that they're positioned correctly. If you don't find an obvious reason why they stopped working, give our technicians a call. We'll check the sensors and determine if they need to be repaired or replaced.
Do garage door windows pose an extra security risk?
If you're worried about security, then a windowless garage door would be preferable. Even though windows can be tempered for added strength, and may even complement the look of your door and enhance the style of your home, their existence alone may be like ringing the proverbial dinner bell for burglars.
